Nancy (Kristoffersen) Dahlberg died Sunday May 31st at the age of 86 of heart failure. She is
rejoicing today that she is reunited with the love of her life Reverend Dr. Raymond Dahlberg, her husband of 62 years who preceded her in death.
Nancy was born in 1933 in Chicago to Norwegian immigrant parents Karl and Sigfrid Kristoffersen. She graduated from Steinmetz High School and Swedish Covenant Hospital Nursing School.
While Nancy did work as a nurse, she believed her true calling was to be the wife of a pastor or a missionary. Nancy and Ray served churches in Minnesota and Oregon before he became the long time director of Covenant World Mission. Nancy found a way to use all of her personality and gifts in leading bible studies in her churches, her neighborhoods and as a teaching director for Community Bible Study, lecturing on the Bible to hundreds of women every Tuesday for 33 years. Nancy believed and taught that the Bible needs to be read from beginning to end as “God’s rescue plan” for all people. Nancy is survived by her children, Lyn Hedstrom (Bill), Mark (Laura), Scott (Julie), Kris Gallegos (Raun); her grandchildren, Adam, Joy, Karli, Matthew, Jake, Lars, Luke, Lillian; her great grandchildren, Ty, Alexis, Ethan.
Due to pandemic restrictions her memorial service and burial will be for immediate family only.
A “drive up” visitation with the family will be held from noon to 1:30 at Northbrook Covenant
Church, 2737 Techny Road in Northbrook on Saturday, June 6th.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nancy’s honor to Community Bible Study,
Communitybiblestudy.org or to any of the Serve Globally Ministries of the Evangelical Covenant
