Steve of Chicago, Illinois died suddenly at the age of 68 on April 9, 2017. He had a couple years battle with severe Dementia. Born in Paco, Manila on July 11, 1948. He loved his Ellinwood Church in Malate and was active in that community of faith. Until he became a member of Mont Clare United Church of Christ in Medill Avenue, Chicago Illinois where he met his wife Joy.
Steve's love for airplanes landed him a job as a private airline pilot to the Magsaysay's of the Philippines. Some years ago, when he got to the United States, due to his Blood pressure problem, he settled for other kinds of work at the Hilton Hotel in Oakbrook and in American Coach Limousines. He was a hardworking man, dedicated to his family and friends.
Steve was a proud member of the Loyalty Chapter Order of DeMolay, Scottish Rite Temple. He was into a lot of volunteering works but he loved to be a part of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines and the Boy Scouts of America. He was a certified Scuba diver and cherished his trip to the Tubbataha reef.
Steve was the youngest of seven siblings. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Esteban Salcedo, Sr. and Genoveva Ubarco Salcedo, brothers Agripino and Cipriano Salcedo, sisters Ligaya Salcedo-Ravancho of San Diego, Cristina Salcedo- Mesina of Ohio, and young daughter Kathleen.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Joy, daughter Geneva and his three children from his first marriage, Florence, Jewel Gem and Steve Anthony, grandkids and sisters Dr. Lydia Salcedo-Alorro Espino of Downers Grove and Adoracion Salcedo-Acuna of Florida.
